Skyway Cement donated the slag cement to Youngstown State University for their concrete canoe competition. The slag cement was used to innovate a slag cement-hydrated lime concrete mix with no Portland Cement which the competition judges raved about the sustainable mix. They finished second at the national competition and received first overall for the product.
