Skyway Slag Cement was recently mentioned in the October issue of Concrete Products Magazine Titled “Pole Power”. This article discusses a new plant Valmont Utilities recently built in Bristol, IN that produces concrete spun prestressed power transmission and distribution poles. This new plant is the springboard for carbon reduction using IL cement and slag cement which they call “eco-concrete”. With this new concrete mix design they hope to reduce their carbon emissions across all their spun prestressed structures plants.
